This is the family group sheet I have for the Joseph Hill McCoy who died in the Runaway Scrape in 1836 when he was only 43 or 44. That was just three month after his younger brother, Jesse, had been killed in the Alamo. He and his wife, Caty, had seven children who lived to adulthood. I find it interesting that they did not name any of these children with "family" names from his family - no John, Samuel, Daniel, Jesse, James, Thomas, or Timothy. However, he did name the fourth son, born the year before he died, after himself. Caty was left in the midst of a revolution with seven children ranging in age from 14 to 1 year. It was a hard life.
